literature elements CAN be fun!

We have been spending a lot of time going over literature elements (such as mood, setting, characterization, plot, and theme). We will be finishing up theme next week and starting to learn those roles for literature circles so we can start them really soon. Most of you seem to be enjoying your independent reading book and I love that! Keep it up! Make sure you record the books you are reading in your log and determine if it was easy, just right, or challenging. Monday will be the first time we take the Tungsten and I just know everyone will do really well. I feel like this year is going great and it will only get better! :)

You've come a long way...

This year has started out great! We have done our personality posters and I had a lot of fun learning about each of you. We also finished the reading autobiographies and I have enjoyed the ones I've read so far. I am only one third of the way through them. We started studying literary elements and will be working on those for the next week or so. We will be experts at identifying and using them very soon!
