Today we read some more of The Outsiders and talked about the theme of the novel. There are many possible themes to it. Just one of them is that we should not stereotype people - don't judge someone by the way they look or dress. Just because someone has long, greasy hair, that does not mean they are a hood. Not all Socs are like Bob and not all greasers are like Dally. We will talk more about the theme as we finish the book later this week.
We also worked on the summaries. 7/8 hour recorded two podcasts for everyone to use as a resource. They are fantastic! You can listen to them here.
Tomorrow is an early release day, but we have much to do! We have the lab and we will (finally) finish and mail the business letters. Anyone who needs to will finish the Tungsten and you will have time to answer the blog question (and there will probably be another one up there). I want us to have a chance to really discuss this book since it is such a wonderful story and is so deep with meaning - there is so much to talk about and I want to know what you think! :)

I agree with the headline.THe cover of the outsiders looks dumb but it's a really good book.
i always judge a book by its cover i must be missing out on a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i usually don't judge pepole by how they dress or anything like that.
i thought that this book would be so dumb BUT it was the best book i have ever read!
